CANOE TRIP - SEPT 2006

Our Co-op year started with the annual canoe trip led again by the more than capable Pypkers and MacKinnons.

After eating a hearty breakfast, having devotions, packing up food and sleeping bags and paddles and life jackets and more food and clothes and maps and first-aid supplies and canoes and kids, we left on Thursday, September 14th.

Great looking group, eh?

Canoes entered the waters of Gibson Lake, after which we traveled down the Gibson River, a bit of Georgian Bay, McCrae Lake, and ended in MacDonald Lake two days later.

Welcome back! September 16th - what a gorgeous day to end the canoe trip with.

Time to pack up everything into the vans once again... and there's talk already about next year's canoe trip. Thanks everyone!

To provide affordable educational and social experiences for high school-aged, home-educated students and to facilitate development of their learning and social capacities within a Christian context, so that in word and deed, in choice of course material and in attitudes of thankfulness, in understanding the creational foundation of all learning and in the purposeful direction we take it, we reflect the goodness of the creation and the Creator, offering our time and skills to bring Him honour and pleasure.

Mission

We are a non-profit, interdenominational, home educating high school co-op founded in 2003 to serve the greater Hamilton area’s home-educating high school teens. We meet for two twelve-week sessions per year on Thursdays in Dundas to offer and study a variety of interesting and relevant high school course material based to the best of our ability on a Christian world- and life-view. We seek to offer an environment that encourages and blesses our children, providing opportunities for older teens to mentor and encourage younger teens and blessing younger teens with the mature example and encouragement of older teens.
