Graduation 2013

Congratulations to our grads of 2013!    Laughter, memories, and mortarboards filled the air as students, family, and friends gathered for a weekend-long celebration honouring our eight grade 12 graduating students.  Seven lovely young ladies--and one gentlemanly gentleman--received diplomas and words of love and wisdom from their parents at the home of Janai W., whose family graciously offered their hospitality and their property for the event. As Mariana M. said, "There's not a more beautiful and joyous day that God could have blessed me with! Had a blast with all my friends!" We will miss all of you and wish you all God's blessings as you launch out into new adventures ahead.
Our grads: Janai W., Mariana M., Janelle V., Emma R.B., Ruthann V., Gregory B., Elyse S., Angela K.
Valedictorian Angela K.

Spring Showcase 2013

Cakes and actors and robot cars, art and photos and poetry and fencing--and just a little bit of song--what a terrific evening we had at our first Spring Showcase!  Thank you to all who turned out for our special end-of-the-year evening and to all the student participants and the instructors who went above and beyond to create this DVHS community event.  Looking forward to next year's Showcase already!
Artwork from...

...DVHS students...
...and DVJC students too.
Special guest appearances by Lester B. Pearson...
...and Laura Secord!
A demo from Cake Decorating students...
...and some fierce duels...

...from the Fencing class!

Ending the evening with a traveling minstrel...

...and the Canoe Trip song.

"Extra, Extra...Read All About It: Students Star in Hit Musical!"

Congratulations to the DVHS Drama and Theatre Tech students for their terrific production of Lucky Dollar, Private Eye!  Six performances led up to sold-out shows the last two evenings as DVHS Co-op put on its first-ever full musical-comedy.  Many thanks to the students, director Sam Frisk, Drama Liaison Melanie R., and all the folks behind the scenes who contributed to making this year's Drama production such a “merry mix of  mayhem, melody, and mania!”
